SUSAN JENSEN  |  Cape Cod Portrait Photographer

While most children recall learning that “A” is for apple, my first word association for “A” was Agfa, the 35 mm camera my Dad used to document most of my childhood in Syracuse, New York.  I have always relished chronicling stories of life in action, taking photos of my family and friends when opportunity (or my allowance!) would permit. I pursued my passion as an art student, completing my bachelor’s in Art Education at the College of Saint Rose and received my Master’s degree in Printmaking from San Jose State University. Throughout my education and since my graduation, photography has inspired my studio work and was a key element in my life as a preschool teacher in Portland, Maine.

In 2012 my husband and I relocated to Cape Cod. In a world of new opportunities I realized that my one constant is my camera; I live and I love to take photographs. Portrait sessions are comfortable and fun because of my experience in interacting with children and families. My husband, Scott, has encouraged me along the way and often assists me in portrait sessions with his keen eye to detail as well as offering a second pair of hands when needed. And my children, Stephen and Lauren have inspired me to explore the world in new ways and to capture special moments, which reveal our family’s story. I would love the opportunity to share forever your story, too.
